Tesco & Weston Homes announce large redevelopment plans
Tesco and Weston Homes are working with local residents on how they can improve their scheme to demolish the current Tesco high road site and turn it into a new 1,400 homes housing area in Goodmayes, Essex.
The scheme aims to include a minimum of 35% affordable housing which meets the London Mayor's target for new housing schemes. This could mean nearly 500 new lower cost homes could be created.

The sheme is set to include a primary school, kids playground space, amenities for residents and open space public areas with more green space. The new Tesco's will be built on what is now the car park and the old store will be demolished.
The site is 10.4 acres in total and is conveniently located next to Goodmayes Railway Station which is due next year to be implemented in the new Crossrail network.
A planning application is being worked on and conversations with local residents continues.
